The Wonders Of Water

WATER....the most forgotten nutrient.

Many people take drinking water for granted, but staying hydrated has a tremendous impact on our overall health. In spite of the health benefits, a large number of people do not consume the recommended amounts of fluids daily.

Around 70% of the body is comprised of water, and how much you need varies. A common recommendation is to drink eight 8-ounce glasses daily, but that amount may vary depending on your health, activity levels, and how hot and dry the climate is. But the fact remains, drinking water (plain, in the form of other fluids, or foods like fruits and vegetables) is essential to your health.

Why drink water?

Flushes impurities and toxins from the body

Aids in weight loss

Helps fight fatigue and headaches

Prevents constipation

Plumps the skin and reduces breakouts

Improves mood & productivity

Prevents joint pain & arthritis

Fights infection

Your body needs more when:

You're physically active

The weather is hot and dry (summertime)!

Experiencing diarrhea or vomiting

Tips to drink more water:

Keep a water bottle handy at your desk and on the go

Choose water instead of sugar sweetened beverages

Add lemon, lime or other fruit to enhance flavor

Try seltzer water with lime as a mock-tail

Drink 2 cups first thing in the morning and two cups 15 minutes prior to meals

Stay hydrated and healthy!
